SPC Kal is a Malaysian independent hip-hop and rap artist/producer who’s been building a lane of his own since early 2019. Fusing modern grungey synth-heavy trap with elements of pop, rage and sometimes R&B, the Authorized Personnel frontman brings a genre-fluid, emotionally charged energy to every track. His music can easlily swing between two extremes: it's either we flex or we get in our feels—always raw, real, and in the moment.
Drawing inspiration from Baby Keem, Playboi Carti, and Kanye West, SPC Kal delivers harsh yet catchy lyrics over unpredictable, sometimes moody production, best showcased by his fifth and most ambitious project to date, SPC Kal, which was released in September 2024. The 16-track statement LP also features major voices in the local scene, with ChronicalZ, Pele L. kidsteph just to name a few.
