Paul Morrin has been producing music under his Spectac moniker since 1999, the same year he co-founded Dublin-based electronic record label Front End Synthetics (FES), as a platform to release his and his friends’ music to the world. His début album entitled “Rabbid” was released on FES in 2003 earning some honourable quotes:
"...sounds like it has grown of its own accord in the woods at night, emerging spectre-like from the shadows...highly recommended album" - Warpmart (Bleep)
"anthemic, pounding, stately, slinky, and alien" - Grooves Magazine
Spectac was then picked up by the stylish, reputable and offbeat; Lo Recordings, for their offshoot Lo Alternative Frequencies (LOAF). His third release, the five track “Horn” EP was released on LOAF in December 2006, and praised by the likes of Mary-Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6.
“Another great release from one of Ireland’s most innovative acts” - Hot Press
“Fun, lively, yet emotive electronica” - Boomkat
