Spek makes music to drive to….. or code….or work on your project car. Hailing from the PNW Spek creates driving music inspired by old 35mm Nova movies and PBS documentaries made in the seventies. Yes it’s retro, but only because Spek is retro…. He grew up in the 80’s. While that means he’s old it also means he’s still writing music late into life and absolutely enjoying it. Modern technology has made old synth sounds a palette much easier to access and Spek finds every way possible to make sure they don’t sound too modern. Throbbing lows and Vangelis highs with as much modern drum vibe to bring Speks songs into the aughts without being overly pop.
