Spiritual Cramp are in 1994 founded by Stefan Klanke and Marco Ailjets. Later Holger Schmiedl and Monika Schneidereit join the group.

in 1996 Monika Schneidereit leaves the band because of time problems, so the concert at the club "Waters" (Düsseldorf) has to be given as a trio. Some weeks later Kathrin Petrick appears to be the new female singer.
In June there's another gig at the club "Notaufnahme" (Vechta). This is the farewell concert to Marco Ailjets, who has to leave Spiritual Cramp to apply to a new job. After that it gets a little bit calm around the band.

1998 means another little break in the band's history. Holger and Stefan both start to study in different towns, which puts a little difficulty in the band's way. Nevertheless they play a gig in Espelkamp again, together with the additional singers Ivonne Schomäcker and Sascha Patzsch, of which the first will become the new female singer of Spiritual Cramp up to this day.
