Gideon Bentata aka SpitShine is a graphic designer, rapper and beatmaker from Gibraltar, residing in Toronto, Canada. He's done work for several recording labels and artists like Universal Music Canada, Warner Music Canada, Linkin Park, Reema Major, Masia One, Fortunato, and Junia T, to name a few.
With a passion for rhymes and hip hop since an early age, he started writing and recording his first rap songs and used broken earphones as a make-shift microphone to practice his recordings. At age 21 he enrolled into college for graphic design. After graduating, he enrolled in college for music production and engineering, graduating with honours.
Eager to release his music, SpitShine built a home recording studio in his apartment and began producing and recording for local artists, while working on his own music, releasing his debut rap album, Let There Be Light in 2011 under his label 'Cognition Studios'.
The following year, SpitShine released his self-produced sophomore album, Across The Spectrum, featuring Toronto rap artists like Angerville, Casino Costa, and Masia One, as well as Venemous2000 and Dev Dapree from the USA.
After a long hiatus, Spitshine has returned with a hidden vault of songs and instrumentals he releases under his new media production studio, Highlifemedia.ca, including the single "Blue Dreamin'", a rap song produced using only cannabis related sounds and references.
Watch out for SpitShine's new album releases in 2023!
