One of the most popular alt-rock outfits in Russia and the former Soviet Union, Splean formed in St. Petersburg in 1994 around the talents of lead singer and guitarist Alexander Vasilyev, keyboardist Nikolay Rostovsky, guitarist Vadim Sergeyev, bass player Dmitriy Kunin, and drummer Alexey Mesherekov. Splean issued their debut album, Dusty Fact, shortly after forming. Subsequent albums include Arms Collector (1996), Altavista (1999), 25th Frame (2001), New People (2003), Split Personality (2007), Signal from Space (2009), Optical Illusion (2012), and Resonance, Pt. 1 and Resonance, Pt. 2 (2014). ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
