Srihari - with his heart touching emotional feel in every word he sings - has created a unique style for himself and has captured the hearts of millions!
Srihari alias Rajesh Dhupad, was born on 5th May 1964 in Bombay. His Parents migrated to Madras - Chennai in 1974 - thus began his musical shaping in the Golden Music era of Maestro Ilaiyaraja – A “musical ekalavyan” was taking shape, imbibing the nuances of bhakti in the pious environs of Thiruvallikeni - Triplicane.
He has to credit more than 350 Audio & 75 Video albums, which were created under his personal supervision as Executive producer for Symphony Recording Co.
The first song sung by Srihari was recorded and released in the year 1989, singing with other stalwarts singers. All the while imbibing the subtle nuances of the masters and slowly creating a unique style of his own, he broke the scene and all previous sales records with his super-hit Solo album KATTUM KATTI. There was no looking back after that!!
Pioneering the video revolution Srihari was the first artist to release video albums in the devotional sphere. Ayyappanai Thedi - in which he appeared in 12 roles brought out another facet of his talent - acting!!
All through his musical career Srihari has been innovating and pioneering far-reaching changes in the Tamil Devotional industry. Apart from being a Singer, he also is a Sound Engineer, Writer, Music Director, Editor, Director in his own right has sung in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Punjabi albums.
