A conceptual artist using the palette of pop music, Starmaxx {f/k/a CHAV} bounces between saturated PC pop and post-modern R&B with a punk sensibility, combining clever wordplay and melodic suites. Each song is a universe itself, complete with dazzling imagery to fully envelope the listener in a new destination.
Starmaxx and their initiatives have been featured in PAPER MAGAZINE 5 times. They’ve also received accolades in them., BRICKS Mag, Billboard, Wussy, and Afropunk, and have been featured on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds: Pop’ and ‘Hyperpop’ playlists as well as Apple's Glitch. In 2019 and 2020 Starmaxx toured with Dorian Electra, opened for Allie X in Chicago, and danced for Charli XCX and Brooke Candy. In 2021 they released their debut EP Totally to acclaim from MTV News, them., Alternative Press and more. Music by Starmaxx has also been licensed for Hulu's Shrill & CRUSH, Netflix's Ginny & Georgia and Twenty Somethings, and more.
