Starvhyn (said star vine) is a duo that makes their own brand of synthpop, electropop, and poppop. Derek and Ryan met whilst at university in New York and began writing music together in 2010. Derek asked Ryan to write lyrics for a pop EP and Starvhyn was formed. They are currently making music in NY and Tokyo, with their full-length debut album coming Summer 2020. Their influences include Freezepop, Tujiko Noriko, New Order, Utada, Kate Bush, Patrick Wolf, Charli XCX, riding on trains at night, and dance parties for one.
