Stas Koroliov

Stas Koroliov is an artist, composer, producer and singer from Avdiivka, Donetsk region, based in Kyiv. He is known in Ukraine particularly for his live performances, conceptual releases and unusual creative ideas. Stas first became known as one of two members of the popular electronic duo YUKO, and started a solo career after they broke up, with the release of the album “O_x” in May 2021.

After russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 Stas created jazz- rock band and gave near 25 gigs in Ukraine and Europe — all of them with conceptual VJing from on stage visual artist, band member Anastasiia Vesna. In May 2023, the band-phase ended with a big concert-game in Kyiv called “Цифровий Утікач” ("Digital Fugitive"), where the audience during the concert could influence the development of events at the concert by voting with their smartphones. And the concert set-list had a multi-branched structure and various possible endings.

A year later, Stas released his second album called "Round 2: Цифровий Утікач" (Digital Fugitive), which summed up the two years of creative activity of the project since the russian armed invasion. This is a large-scale emotional jazz- rock-orchestral record that explores the themes of the desire for escapism from a traumatic reality, as well as the ways to accept it. On August 24, 2024, "Round 2" was played live with 11 musicians, recorded and released as a full concert video and as a live album "R2:ЦУ live at Brave! Factory" on streamings.
