Formed in 2018, Stay Awake is the product of 4 expatriates living in Bangkok, Thailand. The experienced four-piece hail from all corners of the globe, mixing influences from hardcore heavyweights like Rise Against, Strike Anywhere and Bad Religion, with the melodic sophistication and songwriting of greats like Hot Water Music and Boysetsfire.
The band has gathered praise from Fat Wreck Chords legends, Useless ID, who invited the band on their first Japanese tour in early 2020. Singer Yotam Ben Horin was so impressed, he offered his services as production consultant on their latest EP offering 'Portraits'.
With rave reviews on their first EP, the band played a sold out main stage show at Wagayway festival in the Phillipines, followed by a successful tour. Countless shows around Thailand with legends such as MDC solidified the band as a mainstay. Fast forward 2 years; The band returned from their first Japanese tour, hit the studio and worked hard to produce 'Portraits', eventually going on to win the Punk Rock Mag EP of the year award.
The band gets hard, gets vulnerable, gets in your face with some socio-political themes. Keeping with their message of self-improvement and positivity, songs such as 'Inroads' challenge the acceptance of segregation and separation in society, encouraging us to stand our ground, together.
