Stay Up Late is a rock band based in Philadelphia, PA. The band consists of <a href="spotify:artist:0ZO4WIZZRojywyQTm4jDyf" data-name="Ivan Shlyk">Ivan Shlyk</a> (guitar/vocals), <a href="spotify:artist:5wmKYxf7oO286RKPlwBtHN" data-name="Val Pivchenko">Val Pivchenko</a> (guitar/vocals), Ricky Garcia (bass/vocals), and Mike Preston (drums).
Stay Up Late’s story began in Minsk, Belarus around 2015, when Ivan and Val met in the comments section of latter’s cover of "Therapy" by <a href="spotify:artist:46gyXjRIvN1NL1eCB8GBxo" data-name="All Time Low">All Time Low</a>. They bonded over their mutual love of pop punk, Guinness and psilocybin and began writing songs and playing local shows.
The band was gaining momentum and even opened two shows for <a href="spotify:artist:00YTqRClk82aMchQQpYMd5" data-name="Our Last Night">Our Last Night</a>, playing for 1000 people on both nights, but due to the unstable political situation in Belarus, the duo moved to the United States and settled in Philadelphia. There, they reunited with their old friend Ricky Garcia, who helped the band with lyrics and took on the role of bassist for the band; as well as met local drummer Mike Preston, best known for being a member of <a href="spotify:artist:0KBHnQwrOPbSrmcotAT8Sk" data-name="Hollow Pledge">Hollow Pledge</a>.
Currently, Stay Up Late is performing shows in the northeastern US and working on the debut album, which will be released throughout 2023, with the first single "<a href="spotify:track:65O2uXImMOF8XLlWeUVq2t" data-name="Medusa">Medusa</a>" already available.
