Stealing Society, the Philadelphia-based band, began back in 2016 and in 2021, they released their debut EP, "All by Chance".
The group filmed a music video for the single, “Evanescent Love”, at Castle Roxx in Manayunk, PA and released it in spring of 2022. It amassed over 20,000 views in the first weekend of release.
They played a handful of shows in the months following the EP release, and in December 2022, band members Joey Sita and Colin Vaughan rebuilt the group, which is now backed by drummer, Alex Buyser, and guitarist, Jake Biondi, with added grit and powerful lead and backing vocals provided by David Melendez.
Their newest single, "Facade of Calm", was released on November 1, 2024. The track marks their first release in 3 years and showcases Melendez on lead vocals and Biondi on the lead guitar. "We wanted to show up front how the band has changed," said band leader, Joey Sita. "Some songs will be heavier. Some songs will have Dave on vocals more than me and the same with Jake on lead guitar. Not every song is going to be this far from the roots of the first EP, but we thought it was appropriate to share the new elements as the first song out." The tune is a head-banging, gut-punchy rock groove that toes the line between rock and alt metal.
The next singles, “Fun and Games”, “Pinocchio”, and “Deracinate”, were released in the first half of 2025. They showcase different styles and approaches to the rock form.
More releases set for the end of 2025. Stay tuned
