Born in Las Vegas, Located in Portland Steelo is a diverse music artist who blends soulful hip-hop, along with bouncy trap rap to create a unique sound that defines his steelo(style). Steelo’s stage names draws inspiration from a number of origins as he is a big fan of Missy Elliot & Pro Era who both have their own associations to the word Steelo. (RIP Capital Steez)
One of Steelokey’s earliest works dates back to 2014 when he released his first mixtape on DatPiff named ‘Hi9H Times’ with his best friend Josh S. Josh was a prolific figure in Steelo’s early life & teenage years as they developed a friendship since 4th grade. Josh lives on through Steelo’s music through references like ‘RIP JS’ on one of his biggest singles to date ‘Pleasure & Pain’ released in 2018. Also he pays tribute to him in his official music video for ‘Out Of Luck’ which you can find on YouTube.
After opening for artists like Mike Jones, The Luniz, & Nef The Pharoah in late 2018-2019 Steelo really started laying the foundation for a future in Hip-Hop as he started networking more with people in the Portland scene. Fast forward to 2023 after selling out a 1,000+ crowd for Soulja Boy alongside his group The Antelope Fishermen - Steelo is well on his way to stardom as he continues to collaborate with other upcoming & already established artists such as Kid Indigo, Ak The Savior, & members of The Antelope Fishermen.
