Stefanos Yowhannes

Norwegian/Eritrean Stefanos Yowhannes has had a passion for music ever since early childhood, and started writing rap lyrics since his early teenagers. Stefanos aims to represent genuine and honest music and storytelling about the world as he sees it.

He takes influence from his surroundings, either from his education in Europe Studies, family, friends, relationships or political themes that he engages with. In his early years he was strongly inspired by the African American culture he gravitated towards. Artists like D`Angelo, Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill represent his greatest inspirations and remain a large part of his life to this day. When he moved abroad in the early 20s (eventually settled in Amsterdam), he was introduced to a completely different music scene. Now he also draws inspiration from electronic and dance music which is a stark contrast from his early inspirations.

With an international network around him that keeps him at the forefront of new music, cultures and languages, Stefanos is trying to immerse himself in diversity. With his music, he wants to reach as many people as possible, no matter who they are or where they come from.
