The musician and songwriter Stein Roger Sordal is finally ready with his first solo record, "As I Try To Remember", the first part of a double album, where all music and lyrics are written by Sordal himself.

The increasingly popular artist has played in several bands for a number of years, and is internationally best known as the bassist and songwriter in the band Green Carnation. In Norway, more and more people know him as vocalist, guitarist and songwriter in the band Sordal.

Stein Roger Sordal has appeared on over 30 record releases with a number of bands, and we have to go all the way back to the early 1990s to find his earliest released songs. Only in 2023 will he make his debut with a solo record where all instruments are handled by Sordal himself.


"As I Try To Remember" is a record where Sordal has dug into his own catalog and made acoustic versions of songs he has written for bands such as Green Carnation, Sordal, Angels Motel, Plutoho and Soxpan. The choice has fallen on the songs that are not necessarily the most played, but those that have had an extra meaning for the artist himself. The album is minimalistically instrumented and mainly consists of vocals, acoustic guitars and piano.

The album was mixed by Simen Hefte, mastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo and published by Apollon Records.
