I was a shy little girl who knew she loved to sing, but was DEATHLY afraid of what it would take to find the songs inside of me, and offer them to the world. I am still that scared girl, but I try to accept bravery's invitation when it beckons. I am in process and still struggle to capture what I see, feel, hear, learn and think and put it to song, through my vocal chords. I've run away from making music multiple times for multiple reasons, but ultimately have decided that music is a gift and I want to participate in it.
From signing to Gotee Records in 2006 as Stephanie Smith, to playing songs with my husband Tim in our band Copperlily and then appearing on NBC's The Voice (Season 14), it's been an adventurous musical journey thus far. Here's to the beginnings of Stephanie Skipper the Artist. I'm curious to see what will come, I hope you are too :)
