Stephen Monroe is a singer songwriter guitar player from Omaha, Nebraska. He cut his teeth playing bass and singing with rock-n-roll bands that laid it all on the stage. He does his best to bring that compassion to his music; writing it, performing it and recording it. Stephen grew up with the music of the 60's ringing in his ears. From The Beach Boys to the Beatles, CCR, Cream, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin to name a few. The British Invasion turned him on to the blues and Woodstock knocked open the flood gates. The bass guitar came first, self taught to his heroes albums. The 6 string was always in the background until it eventually became the premier instrument. The bands faded, the music tried to stop then the writing took over and the acoustic jumped up and bit him. A solo performer today, the path to get here was a beautiful, difficult journey. The lessons he learned live inside his music today. You'll find an ecelectic mix of influences in the music these days. The blues is always prevelent mixed with some good old down in the dirt americana. " I'd just like to say I hope you enjoy the tunes. Everything you hear is me. except for the piano on Smitten in Monroeville, that's my musical mentor and big brother David. I'm just glad I'm still at it and someone is listening. Take care of one another. Peace and Love and Happiness to you all"
