Stereo Hideout is the brainchild of composer/conductor/singer/songwriter Steve Hackman, a hybrid virtuosic musical landscape where avant-garde rock textures evocative of Radiohead and Muse meet orchestral palettes of Rachmaninoff and Debussy. The Gates Unknown is the latest aural journey into this mysterious world, featuring a 25-minute suite of five songs that begins with samples of Aaron Copland, lines of renaissance plainchant, cut up verses of Shakespeare, and a lone Fender Rhodes- culminating with the band playing alongside a 50-piece orchestra. 1200 (Louisville) and Y2 (Los Angeles) are guest rappers on the album, and Lilli is a guest vocalist.
