Through writing songs, Amsterdam based artist Sterre Weldring tries to untangle the complex emotions we all encounter. By describing her experiences from different angles, she hopes to find truth and comfort for herself as well as for others in need of it.
Inspired by the likes of Florence + The Machine, Tom Odell and Hozier, Sterre's music can best be described as melancholic indie-pop, folk influenced and dramatic, expressing emotions as grand as they can feel internally.
Since crafting her style while studying songwriting in Brighton (UK) and philosophy in Amsterdam, Sterre Weldring combines both types of knowledge to give words and melodies to her stories the best she can. Through the years she's toured the Netherlands during Popronde, performed at places such as Paradiso Amsterdam, Sofar London and Radio 2 (The Netherlands) and gained success on Spotify with debut EP 'Lost Lights'.
Her second EP ‘Hope and the Aftermath’ is out now.
