Guitarist and singer-songwriter Steve Gallup spent years playing lead guitar with his bands Hipshaker and Clam Farm before focusing on a stripped down, bittersweet songwriting style. His first solo release was the humorous “Do You Remember the 2020 Blues?”. The animated video for that song was featured as a selection in the 2023 Beach Break Film Festival and the video for his next release, Amazon Truck, was featured in 2024. The original murder ballad Down in Louisiana followed, highlighting his unique storytelling and bluesy guitar work. Gallup writes and performs live under his own name and as Play Away Rust with harmonica player Bonedog Cohen. Look up the animated videos on YouTube!
