Steve Smith

Steve Smith is an Indianapolis native. Playing solo acoustic one man band looper shows for the past 25 years. Steve Smith and Conga J Duo have also been throwing down at countless venues, special events, festivals, and creating live and studio albums for the last 20 years. Today Steve is collaborating in several different ensembles: Smith/Hause Project, 5TV5, Smith/Hause/Carman Trio and additional Trio’s, Quartets and Quintets which play diverse genres ranging from Jazzy standards, Singer Songwriter, and of course bands that love the extended jam format and improvised music. His first album “Start Today” was released in 2012 and since has released “Pine Needle Tea”, “Rage It Proper, and most recently “Morning Glory”. There are a couple of Fernhead( improv collective)albums from the “Locals Only” days and hundreds of live sessions that can be found at stevesmithproject@bandcamp.com, Fernhead at Archive.org and SoundCloud. Steve continues to perform live regularly in and around the the whole state of Indiana. Some of his favorite venues are Barley Island in Noblesville, The Brown County Inn in Little Nashville and the The Willard and The Grill Bar in Franklin.
