Steve Stone Huff
Steve Stone Huff started out as a bassist in his church band and went on to produce, perform, and collaborate on songs that would become platinum hits, as well as to establish a respectable solo career. After spending years in supportive roles as a producer, touring musician, and session player for gospel and R&B stars like The Thompson Community Singers, Avant, Yolanda Adams, the Winans and many others. Huff stepped out on his own in the mid-2000s, issuing several singles and eventually a full-length project.
Steve Huff grew up in a religious household in Evanston, Illinois. His dad purchasing him a bass when he was just 9 years old and teaching himself how to play. Before long, he moved from performing in church to teaching himself other instruments and the rudiments of music production, and he was soon sitting in on studio sessions with other artists. Huff's reputation in gospel and R&B circles grew, and he spent much of the 1990s and 2000s hitting the road as a touring bassist and producing tracks for acts like R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, Sparkle, Charlie Wilson, Avant, and Keke Wyatt and many others.
In 2016, music under Huff's own name appeared in the form of the single "#DWTS." He issued several other singles in advance of his 2017 album iPromise, a hybrid of gospel and R&B production that reflected his long and storied musical journey.
