Steven Garcia (former Clay Walker staff songwriter and lead singer of Houston's The Rachels and Not The Rachels) and Love Sick Dog Publishing have ended its collaboration after 20 years with all songs written by Frank Trevino. The collaboration ended with not much fanfare as only one the tracks reached over 1,000 plays on Spotify. The musical ties between LSDP and The Rachels ran deep as four songs from previous The Rachels albums are credited to LSDP owner Frank Trevino.
The collaboration between Steven and LSPD officially began in 2005 with the single "You'll Never Know". The collaboration is best known for the 2012 release of “Will You or Won’t You” which was quickly given the Song of the Week (February 19 - 25) from the London indie rock magazine Jamsphere.
Steven and LSDP released 4 full length albums, a compilation album, and two Movie Soundtracks: A Lonely Woman (2018) and Bright Ideas (2024). The Movie EP Soundtrack from the film Bright Ideas starring Jeremy London includes "Your Possession" and the Bright Ideas theme song.
The Rachels unofficially disbanded in 2005 as a live band while Steven records as The Rachels in name only. Steven is currently performing in Houston three to five nights a week with the cover band Not the Rachels.
The last LSDP album with Steven, entitled "Planning My Escape, Plotting My Revenge, was released in September 2025. The only single, I Haven't Been Feeling like Myself Lately, for the album was released on 8/8/2025.
