Ashley Weir aka StickzN15 is a Grime MC hailing from Tottenham. Stickz was born in Westminster, lived in Hackney and Birmingham but settled in Tottenham to begin his journey in music.
Stickz pulls on his own experiences to articulate the many perils he overcame to stand in the booth and give an inner city portrayal of life in his shoes. From the ages 16-21 Stickz was in and out of prison and having trouble maintaining a normal life let alone progressing as an artist. At 21 Stickz was stabbed four times which resulted in a collapsed lung resulting in him reconsidering the path he was taking and refocusing on his music.
Throughout all the adversity Stickz has never been afraid to say the past and his tribulations at times have effected his mental health but with perseverance and the help of Key Changes he has slowly turned his life around and honed his craft not only as an MC but an artist too. In the past few years with more emphasis on performing live Stickz has managed to gain notoriety on platforms like SBTV’s takeover of XOYO, open mic events across London, street festivals and grime events around the capital raising his profile as an rapper who documents his past with visceral detail. Stickz has helped people understand the pitfalls and roads to recovery of mental health issues and is an advocate of helping people who are in similar situations he has been in.
