Strange Addiction is a rock project based in Madrid formed by vocalist and songwriter Amanda Patterson and guitar and bass player Jose M. The duo decided to develop their ideas and tracks on their own after the failure of previous different musical projects. After 9 months, the intense hard work has paid off transforming into songs. The band publishes “Scum”, their first debut demo-single featuring the B-side “Two Worlds Away”, produced and mixed at Red Ghost Studio.
The leitmotiv of the lyrics are love-hate relationships stuck in an endless loop mixed with loud electric guitars, elegant solos and catchy riffs transforming the story into something decadent and furious. The tracks are the result of the evolution of multiple musical references and influences exchanged on this personal project by both members although “surprisingly, our music doesn’t seem to have a common denominator with the music we love and listen to”. Despite the fact that metal reminiscences can be found on the underground, the surface is too distant from stereotypes.
The name of the band was inspired by Still Corners album “Strange Pleasures”.
