Strange Heavy is a cello fronted all original moody folk and sultry rock band based in Ithaca, NY. They broke onto the scene as a duo in late 2018 after years of playing well with others, their lineup expanding in 2021. They play songs of travel, love, anti-capitalism, grief, and resilience. Strange Heavy's music reminds listeners of Tori Amos, hiking in the woods, Modest Mouse, bumpy rides in old pickup trucks, PJ Harvey, and dancing alone in the kitchen.
