Stretch & The Truth, is fronted by singer, song writer Stephen ‘Stretch’ Teakle, player of accordion, keys and Louisiana Rub Board. Typically, his band are the sought-after John Watson (drums), Chris Bekker (bass) and Ben Edgar (guitar).
Stretch is an accomplished musician and storyteller who compares grooving with his band to ‘catching a perfect wave’ or ‘finding that seamless rhythm on a stock horse’.
Stretch recently released his debut EP Horse Piano Diaries; five songs reprised from a collection that were toiled over for a year prior to Stretch and the Truth’s inaugural gig at the Queensland Music Festival over a decade ago.
More songs from that original set list are due to be released on a new EP soon.
