Stuart Brignell is a producer, artist and saxophonist from Toronto, Canada.
His music is reminiscent of some of his biggest influences, J Dilla, Dj Premier, Terrace Martin, The Roots to name a few. Genres do not bind his sound. Being comfortable in many stylistic idioms, his voice permeates through regardless. His first instrument is the alto saxophone, and since a very young age the music of Charlie Parker and John Coltrane have inspired him endlessly to learn the language of jazz as a saxophonist. His music aims to show the modern listener the deep connections between Jazz, Neo-soul and Hip-Hop, to blend together in a fresh way these vastly differing languages that have always shared the same common roots. He has toured Europe, The USA and much of Canada as a side man saxophonist, and has shared the stage with The Doppelgangaz (NYC) Dank (frank’n’dank, Dilla etc) and Anomalie (MTL)
