Suarasama

<a href="spotify:artist:6AvehMD3el7PEcNRqJ7uV2" data-name="Suarasama">Suarasama</a> is an Indonesian world fusion, world music, and folk group formed sometime in 1995, led by Irwansyah Harahap and Rithaony Hutajulu. Irwansyah Harahap is a pioneer of world music genre in Indonesia. <a href="spotify:artist:6AvehMD3el7PEcNRqJ7uV2" data-name="Suarasama">Suarasama</a> first recognized in America &amp; Europe. <a href="spotify:artist:6AvehMD3el7PEcNRqJ7uV2" data-name="Suarasama">Suarasama</a> has produced four albums: <a href="spotify:album:6DJRGa1NiJewcWzdUGDJxV" data-name="Fajar Di Atas Awan">Fajar Di Atas Awan</a> (1998), <a href="spotify:album:4sdAFYd6ahYkFTvp2XpWLs" data-name="Rites of Passages">Rites of Passages</a> (2002), Lebah (2008); and <a href="spotify:album:3pNN9uajWW7E0JJBsIrxfH" data-name="Timeline">Timeline</a> (2013). The first album was produced by Radio France Internationale (RFI), France in 1998. The title track from the album <a href="spotify:album:6DJRGa1NiJewcWzdUGDJxV" data-name="Fajar Di Atas Awan">Fajar Di Atas Awan</a> was also released within the album of Music of Indonesia 20: Indonesian Guitars by the Smithsonian Folkways, 1999 in Washington DC, USA. In 2008 this album was re-released in CD and LP forms by DragCity, Chicago and marketed in USA and Europe. One of the songs from the album <a href="spotify:album:6DJRGa1NiJewcWzdUGDJxV" data-name="Fajar Di Atas Awan">Fajar Di Atas Awan</a> was again re-released, this time in a compilation album UnCut Magazines, London.

After being republished by Drag City, Chicago in 2008, Suarasama album was considered to be one of the 5 best World Music album of the year by SFGate.Com; one of the 10 best World Music album Of the Year by Un Cut Magazine, London and one of the 10 Best Album of October, 2008 by Global Rhythm Magazine, USA. Five songs of Suarasama have appeared in a film “Un-common Sound: Song of Peace and Reconciliation” produced by Fuller Theological Seminary 2013.

Suarasama has performed in several countries around the world such as USA, Germany, Belgium, Netherland, Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Phillipines, etc.
