Born July 7, 1985, and diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2000, Subliminal Tha Kid endured a life marked by suffering, survival, and faith. A Christian hip-hop artist, he has performed alongside legends like Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Method Man & Redman, Brotha Lynch, E-40, and more.
In 2011, he went from 205 lbs to just 92 lbs within months. Over the next six years, he faced life-threatening symptoms: chronic bleeding, anemia, ulcers, osteoporosis, and more. He was bedridden for two years, relearned to walk, and became so weak that bruises formed from water hitting his skin. At one point, his heart rate dropped to 22 BPM. He nearly bled to death in 2015 and underwent multiple surgeries, including a colostomy in 2021 and an ileostomy in 2023 after surviving sepsis and a 28-day fast due to colon perforation. He was also diagnosed with latent tuberculosis and treated with Rifampin. June 2024 with another 27 day hospitalization and a total colectomy to remove his colon and large intestine.
Despite being told he might not live, he remains rooted in Christ. His journey from death’s door to the stage is more than survival—it’s redemption. “What was spoken of in the past is left there. A new is now made.”
