Artistically celebrated as SumCallMeChico, is a dynamic presence from the Coachella Valley's vibrant landscapes in Palm Springs, California. Born to hardworking agriculture immigrant parents in Thermal, Ca.
From his early days, Chico was irresistibly drawn to the performing arts. He developed his musical talents in middle school, excelling in saxophone, percussion, & discovered a profound passion for DJing. Beyond mastering instruments, Chico also engaged deeply with performance art, perfecting lip-synching and dance routines of the era’s most popular solo artists & boy bands.
Chico’s musical palette is rich & diverse, influenced by a spectrum of genres & icons. His passion for reggaeton was ignited by El General. Equally influential are the melodious narratives of Juan Gabriel & the tunes of Los Temerarios, which deepened his appreciation for Mexican music. The eclectic mix includes inspirations from David Bowie, Janet Jackson, & rock legends Mana, alongside 80's freestyle, modern pop, & rock elements.
Chico initially paused his music aspirations to pursue education and work, but the call to music was undeniable. Today, as SumCallMeChico, he brings a unique identity to the music scene, blending his deep roots in Mexican music with the bold & rebellious spirits of '80s pop & rock, all under the glamorous umbrella of Chico Glam.
