Rooted in sisterhood, childhood friends Amy Illingworth and Lily Sturt-Bolshaw found their feet in Leeds to form Sunflower Thieves, both moving here to study at Leeds Conservatoire. A self-produced partnership, Amy and Lily’s songwriting navigates platonic love, loss, self-growth, romance, and mental health.
Gathering plaudits from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, Atwood Mag and more along the way, the band released their debut EP, ‘Someone To Be There For’ in 2022, and follow up EP, ‘Same Blood’, in 2024.
Sunflower Thieves have sold out headline shows across London, Leeds and Nottingham, as well as having toured across the UK and Europe with the likes of The Staves, Samantha Crain, Flyte, Dan Croll, Say She She, Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly, Haley Blais and Lewis Watson.
