Local artist Sunny Kalama has been frequently recognized as Hawaii next rising star. Her career started at the age of 16 as she released her first single “All I wanted” onto the radio and opened up for some of Hawaiis biggest names (Common kings, the green, Ziggy Marley). Prior to her first release she studied jazz with great admiration for her grandfather the symphonic orchestra conductor of Panama and dreamt of one day Riding Giants like her father ( in a musical metaphorical kinda way). Sunny Kalama is now performing regularly and has just finished a 12 part music video series with her new band,

Her style of singing/songwriting can be compared to great artists like Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, & Alicia Keys.
