Sunset'69, Pop Punk Classic/indie band born in the coastal town of Sanur, has made its mark on the Bali underground scene. With creamy guitar sounds and undeniably gloomy lyrics, they have successfully captured the attention of the Kali Yuga era society.
Sunset'69 was formed on May 14, 2023, by three Sanur ruffians who share the same musical taste: Nathan Gandhi (drums), Made Tomat (vocals/bass), and Richy Segara (vocals/guitar). They started their musical career by performing Social Distortion songs in small bars in Bali.
They went through three name changes, starting with Caligula's, which was changed due to an existing Bali hardcore band called KALIGULA. Their second name was Sunset'96, but it was changed again because an event organizer called Gung Nanda repeatedly misspelled Sunset'96 as Sunset'69 on event flyers. And their third name is
Sunset'69, a perfect name, easy to remember and easy to say.
They released their debut single, "29 Hari" in 2025.
With all the challenges and risks they take, they say it's an honor and a joy to be able to contribute to the chaos in the Bali underground scene, and they're proud to be part of a band.
