Welcome to Sunshine Grocery! How can we help you?
For starters, the year is 1976, and the aisles are full of semi-fresh produce and promise. Let’s take a look around!
Sunshine Grocery is a musical co-op of sorts - a band, if you will - comprised of a rotating cast of characters plagued by immense talent and colossal decision paralysis. Our ragtag staff of grocers includes: Jack Schneider, folk singer and guitar player for country star Vince Gill; Camille Thornton, songwriter and prose enthusiast; two-time Grammy Award-winner Matt Andrews, engineer for Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Old Crow Medicine Show, and countless others; Americana artist Liv Greene of Free Dirt Records; and Nashville-native songsmith Wes Langlois.
After several unsuccessful enterprises in the entertainment industry (including but not limited to a re-popularization of the ViewMaster, a support group for county fair hypnotists, and an underground punk show at East Nashville’s annual Tomato Fest), the group was hard-pressed for a venture that would guarantee fame and fortune. Finally the staff settled on the perfect endeavor: to record an album entirely to a TASCAM 4-track cassette machine, mere blocks away from a state-of-the-art studio they had full access to. The result is their debut project, Sunnyside of the Moon, which will be available for public consumption in spring 2025.
Thanks for stopping by - did you find everything you were looking for?
