Suntje is not just a name. It comes from the Norwegian for "Little Sun" and is above all the middle name in Antonia Hausmann's passport. It was confidential for a long time like an alter ego that has now come to light for the first time in her life.
Born and raised along the German-Polish border, she now lives in Leipzig. She studied jazz trombone at the University of Music & Theater in Leipzig and Lucerne (Switzerland). Dedicated to the trombone, she has already toured around the world with various projects. For her 30th birthday, she makes her own personal gift and takes a completely new musical path with "Suntje". Less trombone, and more singing. The music stems from a fascination of acoustic instruments with beats, sub-bass and synth sounds. Daring to take new steps, experimenting, discovering, confronting and finding a new way of creating music that she has not done before.
From diverse jazz formations to big band ensembles, the trombone has been her companion all her life and will always remain so. But this time, with ease, she will hold the microphone in her other hand ...
