Super Earth

Super Earth is the psychedelic-experimental music project of Micah Birch. That's me. Through this project, it is my goal to bring you, the listener, into a sonic experience. To place you inside of landscapes, textures, a world of wonder and mystique. To spin fantastical tales of love, hate, the occult, extra-terrestrial life, illicit chemistry, and spiritual experience. This is the world we inhabit, full of curiosities and confusion, moments of chaos and moments of peace.

The name itself, Super Earth, comes from reading about the discovery of a massive planet, lightyears away, that lies within a potentially habitable zone. Immediately I was filled with a sense of wonder, a fascination with what could be just beyond our grasp. It's that same sense of wonder that I strive to instill into the music I create. The tiny fragments that add up to construct our lives, phenomena bouncing around the collective psyche, some unknown element that binds us together. Like moments of time or emotion, brain synapses firing on all cylinders, trapped in a bottle, or in this case a recording. The music that you find here is made through the exploration of these concepts. To all listeners, friends, collaborators, and artists who make this project possible, I am eternally grateful.
