Founded by Saulo Ramón (guitars) and Yaya Lion (vocalist, synth) in 2011 and is based out of Dallas, TX. The band also consists of bassist Miguel Santana and drummer Jawdat Anguiano. Their debut EP, <a href="spotify:album:3cEj5yNwxA6bFc9vlqCvFO" data-name="Grey Space">Grey Space</a>, was independently released in 2015 and was produced by Grammy winner Jordan Richardson of <a href="spotify:artist:59vc8g1YJt5DnT9SzoTfjX" data-name="Son of Stan">Son of Stan</a> (ex-<a href="spotify:artist:45lorWzrKLxfKlWpV7r9CN" data-name="Ben Harper">Ben Harper</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0RdRumkn2UydUjqytNJ2Cp" data-name="White Denim">White Denim</a>).
In 2016, SuperSonic Lips won Ninkasi Brewing's "Last Band Standing" and earned an all-paid trip to Eugene, Oregon, to record their sophomore EP, <a href="spotify:album:0yjFuSi3IvdDKrc0TudOCv" data-name="Blinded Pleasures">Blinded Pleasures</a>. SuperSonic Lips was also nominated for the 2016 Dallas Observer Music Awards and strangely won the "Best Dallas Latin" award a month later.
"Blinded Pleasures" was engineered and produced by James Book (former bassist for <a href="spotify:artist:3brlG1zNhqIkYhdneCaPVi" data-name="The Flys">The Flys</a>) at Ninkasi Brewing Studios in Eugene, Oregon, and mastered by Joe Bozzi at Bernie Grundman Studios in Los Angeles, California.
