SUPERSTAR JIG

Chicago is known for producing high-caliber artists, but the surrounding areas need their credit, too. One of those areas is Joliet, as it is responsible for fostering the prodigy that is Superstar Jig. Although he was born in Maywood, Jig bounced around the state as a child. Throughout all of the moves, his love for the arts continued to grow stronger, boiling over when he began writing music in 6th grade. Years later as a sophomore, he put his foot on the gas and released his first track under the moniker Jiggly J. As he matured, so did his music, finding his footing through synth-filled soundscapes that touched on different aspects of his upbringing.

Flash forward to today and Superstar Jig is in a league of his own, with his ever-changing sound dipping into psychedelic ranges that allow him to leave a distinct touch wherever he goes. This is best felt when comparing tracks like “Asmodeus” and “Road With the Rainbow,” where despite the difference in tempo and energy, Jig still comes in with reverberated, psyched-out bars that serenade the listener. As his dynamic sound continues to evolve, he strives to guide listeners through his story by taking them into the deepest depths of his mind not only through music, but all mediums of art.
