wandering music, rooted songs. a clown becomes a witch, lullabies turn into prayers, poems into rap, blues flirts with opera. with lyrics both intimate & political, poetic and sharp, sura carries us away into their world, a world where softness & love is a fierce & committed choice.
the audience cannot be passive & silent, they become a choir, creatures, witnesses, family. In an instant, the ambient air heats up, & wherever the concert takes place, it becomes a circle, a ritual. We emerge more powerful, more loving, ready to "make hope contagious" (#alokvmenon).

inspired by artists such as bobby mc ferrin, cocorosie, devendra banhart, lior shoov, nina simone, ibrahim maalouf, & yom, sura released their first solo album - roar- in 2022 at botanique. they released - soaked - & - out of the blue - with las lloronas in 2020 & 2023. sura's latest musical release - breaking the silence - came out on the 7th of June 2024, & is an experimental EP. it is a musical commentary mixing acoustic improvisation, documentary soundscapes & techno-trash productions, resonating with the wars in the middle east.
new solo creations are in the pipeline for 2025, including - purr - their second full length album - which is currently being recorded.
sura is an abundantly versatile and creative artist, they offer the world their colorful roars and purrs, step by step, cloud by cloud, with humble and overflowing generosity.
