Susan Augustt

Susan Augustt is an abundantly gifted singer /songwriter who moves seamlessly between genres and styles. She utilizes her vocals that have undertones of jazz and neo-soul, to create unique pieces of sound art poignantly blended with different genre sounds while incorporating traditional Ghanaian rhythms such as highlife, agbadza, and kpanlogo. She is also the lead singer and co-founder of the afro-fusion band ADORKOR.

Susan is born of a Ga-Ewe decent and lived her early years in Obuasi, a suburb of the Ashanti Region in Ghana; she believes these multi-cultural experience has contributed to her versatility in her music. Apart from English, she sings in two local languages, Twi and Ga.
She has performed at various festivals , concerts and events such as : Afrofest Toronto, Ahaban Charity Festival, the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora, and Sofar Sounds Accra. She is passionate about empowering emerging female artists in Ghana and has also participated in residencies such as BlackGirls Glow and OneBeat Ghana that seek to create and build a sustainable creative economy in Ghana. Susan is indeed made in Ghana but set for the World stage.
