Susy Sun

Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Susy Sun has quietly carved out a sound full of organic subtleties and inviting depths, offering a dreamy combination of folk, classical and vintage pop.

Sun’s early years were spent in rural Washington, waltzing through apple orchards and studying classical piano. Later she traded the stages of the PNW for Southern California and debuted her songwriting to the wider world with her 2019 LP “The Way The Wind Blows”.

As Sun continued to develop her sound she was drawn to a more organic approach to recording. Her follow-up album “On Ivar Hill” was released in 2023 which she co-produced and recorded with a band live to tape. These songs cover a sprawling stylistic range but an ever-present combination that feels timeless and moving.

“River Talk” Susy Sun’s third record, is a collection of folk lullabies, signifying her appreciation for nature and meditating on life and loss. The album was recorded live to tape in a Beachwood Canyon studio and at her piano in Glendale. The cottage setting and vintage recording setup helped capture the intimacy in Sun’s vocal performance and her vulnerability through song.
