Acoustic hymns and prayers. All my songs are recorded “in the moment” as I kneel on the floor in my home or sit in my car praying for strength. Many times they were recorded in a children’s hospital as I waited & prayed for answers. When I feel overwhelmed with grief, joy, uncertainty and fear, Jesus gives me words or a melody, and all I can do in that moment is sing.
When our voices are shaking, off key, hoarse or just tired, sing anyway. Singing is a weapon. Wield it in the moment.
Losing my father to cancer as a teen, the joy of knowing Jesus and realizing my desperate need for Him, becoming a mother, foster care & adoption, and hugging children through the pain of trauma, illness and losing a child to cancer are experiences that have all given me many memories and many lyrics. I have been writing thoughts and lyrics since 2016 and felt led to share my words and music in 2022 when my oldest son was diagnosed with leukemia. Jesus comforts me with music. Especially hymns from my past. I pray He comforts you too.
“By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”
Psalms 42:8
“The Lord will fulfill HIS purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.” Psalm 138:8
