Sváfnir Sig is an Icelandic musician, born in Reykjavík in 1969. He grew up as a teenager under the influence of punk and new wave but his music is by now firmly rooted in the singer/songwriter (troubadour) genre. Sváfnir‘s first album Loforð um nýjan dag (2016) got great reviews and the song „Malbiksvísur“ sat for 13 weeks on the top list on Rás 2 – (Icelandic National Radio Channel 2). Sváfnir‘s second solo album, „Jæja, gott fólk“, will be released on December 4th 2020.
There is honesty in Sváfnir‘s music, both in songs and lyrics. The lyrics draw from the experience of the ordinary life of ordinary folks, both looking at the lighter side of life, as well as tuning melodically into that nostalgic twinge in our hearts.
Sváfnir is also a member of the band „Menn ársins“ who released their self titled album in 2008 „Menn Ársins“.
