Hailing from Brooklyn New York, Power-Pop-Rock band Swampboots delivers heartfelt melodies and raw lyrics so catchy they’ll have you stuck on repeat after one listen. Swampboots is the brainchild of frontman and guitarist Dylan Schultz, who combines his rural Minnesota roots with influences of the East Coast’s cultural melting pot. After completing his MFA, Schultz was haunted by the fact that life, “was getting a little too safe and sane.” He packed up for Brooklyn where he teamed with the rest of the guys in what could be called a kismet musical collaboration. Although the band has been through a few different iterations the current line up began when Schultz reconnected with keyboardist Mike Leech, a middle school friend by way of NYC. Leech then brought the powers of bassist Roman Palylyk to the band. The final piece of the puzzle was made possible by a miraculous Craigslist connection to drummer Dave Lopez, whom Schultz refers to as his, “ride-or-die.”
