Swampman

Alternative hip hop vocalist and producer Swampman brings melodies and introspective raps to a variety of hiphop styles from lofi and boom bap to more psychedelic trap and pop songs. The southern Maryland / PG county born artist showed love for multiple musical styles in 2020’s “And They Never Spoke Again” which had culminated his best tracks from when he started to gain traction on SoundCloud in 2017 to up until that point.

Born Darren Johnson jr in Clinton, Maryland, named after his late father who inspired him after seeing his band “The Mojo Priest’s” work with the DC blues society. the passion he had performing and his love for music left a impact and Darren jr was in guitar classes and played in the school band since elementary school. Now setting off to establish a strong connection with his audience, he released the first iteration of the mixtape series titled “BACKWASH” with the first 3 songs being a diverse helping from introspective trap and boom bap to a emotional indie pop tune.

Swampman is working to seize the moment constantly staying in touch with his fanbase and dropping music frequently. His new song “MR. BACKWASH JONES” drops April 14th.
