Born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, SwayeeBoogie known as "Swayee" to most first started getting into making beats in the mid 90's. Hip Hop has always been apart of his life since he was small when his mother bought him his first boom box and three Hip Hop tapes. Beastie Boys, LL Cool J and The Fat Boys. He fell in love instantly with the art form and began collecting tape after tape of rap artists and groups which led to eventually him starting to write raps and lyrics. Never having rapped before he met 4 like minded individuals who encouraged him to Rhyme and inspired him to want to make his own beats after looping two tape decks to make instrumentals for years. He is known for Boom bap style of beats. Boom Bap has always been in his blood and producers such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor and many others shaped and molded his love for the art form but also appreciating other forms and styles of music. He continues to be a torchbearer for that Golden era sound and to shed light on and build with others who are also purveyors of the art.
