Swerwer - a South African(Pretoria) based independent group. With a modern and euphonious sound mixing Funk, Blues and Rock with the groove and hip shaking beats of modern dance music. The members are Jose Bezuidenhout on guitar and vocals - and Janes Blomerus on bass guitar. Both musicians have spent years in the South African music scene, composing and performing in various genres, in different stage acts or as session artists. After countless conversations about collaborating, the two musicians came together in 2020 and formed Swerwer.
They shaped and perfected their sound and then self Produced and released their first single, Roosmaryn in May 2020. Writing in Afrikaans a native language from RSA.
Swerwer(Afrikaans) is loosely translated to “a vagabond”. With this the duo is trying to emphasize their appreciation for spending time on the road meeting new fans and playing the next show.
