Swift Omega has been making beats for Salt Lake City, UT since 2012. Originally known as Metrid (and most recently, Swiftboy Mega), Swift Omega is the brainchild of Salt Lake native, JP Krein. As a child, JP devoured a mixture of hair metal, 80’s synth-pop, 90’s grunge, and 90’s-era U92. Playing in bands since 2012, JP always kept his turntable plugged into an audio interface on the chance that playing a show would inspire a vinyl-sampled beat. During the Metrid era of Swift Omega, JP experimented heavily with Nujabes-style beats. He eventually progressed to sampling his own tracks, blending them and creating a unique style that dips into multiple, unexpected genres.
Swift Omega is essentially what you'd get if Gorillaz collaborated with Massive Attack, alt-J, and Circa Survive. It's groovy, dark, spacey, and real good. The world is a flaming trash bin, so you might as well dance and cry through it all.
